St. Joseph’s Home was set up by the Catholic Welfare Services in 1978 to provide shelter, care and love for the aged and destitute, regardless of race or religion. It was the late Dr. Ee Peng Liang’s vision and untiring efforts that made this possible.

The Canossian Sisters volunteered their services for the administration and running of the Home. They were fully involved right from the beginning of its conception to the present day-to-day care of the residents.

In 1985, there was a pressing need to care for patients with advanced illness, and Dr. Ee was once again instrumental in starting the hospice. In 1993, St. Joseph’s Home moved to its present premises, with the promise of bigger and better facilities for our residents.

St. Joseph’s Home is a Person-Centred Home which values Human Dignity, providing the residents with Holistic Care through Love, Care and Compassion.
